CAAP
member Westmoreland Human Opportunities (WHO) held a poverty
simulation at the end of May. Done in conjunction with Pittsburgh
Social Ventures, the hour and half simulation gave middle
and upper class participants an idea of what it is like living
in poverty while raising a family. Nearly
50 participants simulated four weeks of living in poverty.
They experienced the multiple barriers those living in poverty
encounter while trying to provide for their family.
